Image rights and attribution
Image permissions, credit requirements and how to prepare an image-rights or removal request for IGStar.
Permission comes first
Contributors must have an appropriate right or permission to publish each image. An image being publicly accessible on a social network does not, by itself, grant permission to copy it. Uploading or importing a file does not establish a license.
Credits and sources
Include an accurate caption or alternative description, the creator or rights-holder credit when known, and a source URL. Attribution alone does not replace permission. Images are not offered under a site-wide reuse license; contact the rights holder before reusing them.
Hosting and optimization
IGStar may store and resize submitted images for reliable delivery. Compression, resizing and local hosting do not change ownership or confer any additional rights.
Rights concerns
For an image-rights request, include the page URL, the specific image, your relationship to the rights holder, the basis for the request and a way to reply. Use the Contact page for the available reporting channel. Do not send unnecessary sensitive documents.
