Editorial policy
IGStar’s standards for factual claims, automated contributions, attribution, link checks and corrections.
Accuracy and sources
Contributions should describe publicly documented information, distinguish fact from uncertainty and preserve relevant source links. Do not invent personal details, official accounts, quotes, awards or relationships. A directory entry is not a substitute for the original source.
Automation and responsibility
Automated tools can assist with collecting and publishing information. They can also make mistakes. Automated publication is not evidence of independent human review. Author or reviewer names should only be shown when a real attribution is available.
What a checked link means
A contributor may mark a social link as research-checked. This is a contributor assertion, not an IGStar identity verification or a verification badge from the linked platform.
Dates and corrections
An “Updated” timestamp reflects a record change, not necessarily a full editorial review. For a correction, identify the profile URL, quote the disputed claim and provide a reliable supporting source. Corrections and removal requests use the contact details on our Contact page.
